Fly tipping
Fly tipping is when rubbish is dumped illegally on streets, in alleyways, or on public or private land. We work with residents to keep Redbridge clean and take action against anyone who fly-tips.
Enforcement
We use CCTV and other evidence to identify fly-tippers. Anyone caught dumping rubbish illegally in Redbridge could receive a large fine and may end up with a criminal record.
Report fly tipping
Your reports help us investigate and prosecute fly-tippers. If you see someone dumping rubbish illegally, or know who is responsible, please report it or call us on 020 8554 5000.
You do not have to give your name, but any information you can provide may help our investigation. All reports are treated in confidence.
Dispose of waste responsibly
There are several legal ways to get rid of unwanted waste and large items:
- use your regular household refuse and recycling collections
- use our garden waste collection service during the summer
- book a bulky waste collection for large household items.
- take other waste such as builder's rubble, non-household waste and recyclable materials to Chigwell Road
If you use a private company to remove your waste, make sure they are registered and have a valid waste carrier's licence. You could be held responsible if your waste is dumped illegally.
