Your garden waste service
Our fortnightly Green Garden Waste collections are ending for autumn and winter, but they’ll be back in spring 2027.
Don’t forget to make a note of when your last garden waste collection day:
- Week 1 collections end on Friday 16 October
- Week 2 collections end on Friday 23 October
We only provide kerbside collections from residential properties with their own gardens.
If you live in a flat and would like to start composting, we can help you set up a shared composting site. You can see more information online on how to start a compost
The service is not available for business premises, allotments or flats without attached gardens.
Where to put your garden waste
You can put a maximum of five bags. Leave the bags open so the garden waste is visible to us.
Do not put your garden waste in black sacks or dustbins.
We need to get to the bags without any obstruction so you need to ensure its placed:
- within your property boundary near the road, but not on the pavement
- outside by 6am on collection day
What we’ll collect:
- hedge cuttings
- grass cuttings
- weeds
- garden plants
- flowers
- dead leaves
- twigs
What we don't collect:
- large branches
- turf
- earth, soil, stones, gravel etc.
- pet bedding
- food including fruit or vegetables
- fallen fruit from trees (such as apples or pears)
- plant pots
- plant labels/markers and other plastic items
Lost or misplaced garden waste bags
We’ll return all bags neatly to a safe spot within your front garden.
We understand that bags can go missing for different reasons. Unfortunately, we cannot replace bags free of charge.
