Apply for a resident parking permit

We issue permits based on controlled parking zones, you should check which zone you live in before you apply.

You can get a resident parking permit if:

  • you live in Redbridge 
  • you are the owner or keeper of a vehicle that is kept in Redbridge 
  • you are the main driver or registered keeper of the vehicle

You need to register an account with us if you have not already done so. You can then complete the permit application form and once that has been approved you can purchase your permit.

Before you begin your application make sure you have:

  • your vehicle registration details
  • proof of address, 2 documents. You may not be required to submit residency proof if you apply online and your name and address is validated via the council tax register
  • proof of vehicle ownership at your Redbridge address or proof that the vehicle is a company car (2 documents required)
  • a debit or credit card to make payment
  • a scanner or camera so that you can upload your documents

Apply for a permit 

You should receive your permit through the post within 10 working days.  Your permit has to be displayed in the windscreen of your vehicle. 



Each vehicle needs a separate permit, this includes motorcycles. There is no limit on permits for an address. You can purchase either a 6 or 12 month permit. 

Disabled badge holders who are eligible for a resident permit will receive the permit free of charge.

The charges of first and further permits are:

First permit

  • 6 month permit £15.00
  • 12 month permit £20.00

Second permit 

  • 6 month permit £50.00
  • 12 month permit £100.00

Further permits

  • 6 month permit £90.00
  • 12 month permit £180.00


Renew or make changes to permits

Renew your permit

If a permit has been lost then a new application will have to be made and you will be charged the full permit rate

If a permit has been stolen, you must provide us with a crime reference number. We will then give you a replacement permit. The replacement permit will show the same expiry date as your previous permit. There is a £20 charge for replacement permits to cover our costs.

Cancel your permit

To cancel and get a refund on your permit you must complete a refund form (PDF 153KB) and return your permit to parking management:

We will issue a cheque refund for any time remaining on the permit, minus a £20 admin fee.
