Examination news and timeline
Hearing sessions will commence at 1pm on Monday 15th June 2026 within the Council Chamber, Barking Town Hall, Town Hall Square, Barking, IG11 7LU.
The Inspectors have issued the following documents:

Friday 29th of May is a key date in the Examination process. This is the deadline for any further Written Statements and participation requests to be submitted to the Programme Officer. Further information can be found within the Guidance Note.

Monday 16 February 2026 In accordance with section 20(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 the Planning Inspectorate has appointed G J Fort, BA PGDip LLM MCD MRTPI, and T Davis, BA (Hons) MA MRTPI, to hold an independent examination of the East London Joint Waste Plan. |

Friday 30 January 2026 The East London Borough Councils have submitted the East London Joint Waste Plan Regulation 19 Submission Plan (PDF 2426KB) to the Secretary of State for examination, along with supporting documents. |
