Friday 30 January 2026 The East London Borough Councils have submitted the East London Joint Waste Plan Regulation 19 Submission Plan to the Secretary of State for examination, along with supporting documents.

Monday 16 February 2026 In accordance with section 20(4) of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 the Planning Inspectorate has appointed G J Fort, BA PGDip LLM MCD MRTPI, and T Davis, BA (Hons) MA MRTPI, to hold an independent examination of the East London Joint Waste Plan.

Friday 27 February 2026 The East London Borough Council's have received the Inspector's Preliminary Letter. It sets out general matters and points for clarification after the Inspector's preliminary appraisal of the East London Joint Waste Plan. The Inspector's are inviting contributions from the Boroughs only at this point, those with a right to be heard in the examination will be given sufficient opportunity to provide further representations at the relevant stages.
