Care leavers and Foster Care discount/exemption

With effect from October 2017 Redbridge introduced two new Council Tax Reductions.

Up until 31 March 2023, our registered foster carers are entitled to receive a 60% discount which could increase to 80% if certain occupancy conditions are met. Please discuss this with your supervising social worker or contact the Redbridge Fostering Team on 020 8708 6068.

Redbridge Care Leavers are exempt from Council Tax until they turn 25 years of age and if you need any help with your council tax account please email us on council.tax@redbridge.gov.uk.
