Redbridge Youth Election 2022

Redbridge Youth Election 2022

The Redbridge Youth Election 2022 will take place between 31st January and 10 February 2022. Nominations are now closed.  If you are one of the over 90 nominees you will be emailed to secure your interview and choose which manifesto workshop you will attend - 22 or 23 November at 5pm online.

If you have not received an email (some emails are bouncing back) contact for more information - do not use a school email address.

The term will start in March 2022 and will run for 2 years until March 2024.  The Members of Youth Parliament (MYPs) produce a manifesto of what they hope to achieve in their year and students across Redbridge vote for who they want to represent them.

The successful MYPs, not only run the Youth Council, work on their manifestos and the council priorities, they also represent Redbridge nationally.  The Redbridge MYPs meet with all of the MYPs across the UK to develop national campaigns and speak at the House of Commons to agree the main campaign for the coming year.

Last year over 14,748 votes were cast from 36 schools, Youth Centres and other organsations and the current MYPs Ahmed Rahman and Faizan Ahmed have been running the Redbridge Youth Council since that date.
