Welcome to the home page of Redbridge Youth Service. We aim to give you opportunities and experiences that will help you to develop skills, make friends and create long and lasting memories. We hope to see you soon.

 

To attend any of our activities below, you must be registered with us. If you haven't completed it before, complete our youth services registration form. So that our emails reach you please use a personal email address, not your school one.

March and April

The year is flying by!  Already, it's nearly schools Spring break.  We will be running our popular HAF programme during the school holidays.  Information about this can be found below.  Whether it's for  term-time or the school break, we hope you see something below that interests you.  Don't forget, to attend any of our sessions, you must complete, or have completed, our registration form.  This can be found at the top of this page.  We look forward to seeing you soon. 

Wednesday 22 March

From 3pm to 5.30pm - After school club at Hainault Youth Centre

Come and join us after school for a whole range of activities including cooking, pool, table tennis, workshops, group games and gaming.  For more details contact Liaquat Ali

Thursday 23 March

From 7.15pm to 9.30pm - Youth Club at Hainault Youth Centre

Monday 27 March

Please note there is no Redbridge Youth Council tonight.  We return on 17th April.

From 6.15 pm to 8.30pm - Monday Night Youth Club at Hainault Youth Centre

This session is for young people with additional needs aged 13-24. We offer a safe and friendly environment, helping to build confidence and develop social skills through supportive and creative activities. For more details contact Jan Booth

Tuesday 28 March

From 3pm to 9.30pm - Afterschool Club and Youth Club at Hainault Youth Centre 

Come and join us for a whole range of activities including cooking, pool, table tennis, workshops, group games, gaming and so much more.  During the evening we have basketball, football and cricket.  For more details contact Liaquat Ali

Redbridge HAF Programme

The Redbridge Holiday Activities and Food programme is being provided to enable eligible primary and secondary aged children and young people to access the following during the school holidays: daily physical activity, enriching activities & nutritional education. Children and young people who took part in last year’s programme had a great time and made new friends too. Hainault Youth Centre will be running HAF sessions for young people from year 7, up to the age of 18, on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4 April. The Centre will be open from 10.30 to 4.30pm.

Are you eligible to attend?

You will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Be eligible for, and in receipt of, Free School Meals (not including those accessing universal entitlement for Free School Meals unless they also meet the eligibility criteria for FSM)

Places can be booked in the following ways:

  • If a young person is eligible for, and is in receipt of free school meals, they can apply through the Redbridge HAF webpage or directly for sessions at Hainault Youth Centre
  • If a young person is considered vulnerable, they can be referred by a member of Redbridge Youth Service staff

Spaces are allocated on a first come first served basis so please book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Once we have confirmed you are eligible to attend and that a place is available, we will confirm the details with you or your parent/carer if they sign up on your behalf.

We will also share your information, including the medical health plan and/or protocol (where applicable) with the third-party organisation that will be responsible for offering the activities. For more information, please contact the HAF team.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award

The Duke of Edinburgh's award, also known as DofE, is a life-changing adventure you don’t want to miss. 

It’s about going the extra mile! Learning new skills for work and life, getting fitter, making a difference and broadening your horizons. The coronavirus doesn’t mean your DofE needs to stop. You can start your volunteering, physical and skills sections from home or remotely using the DofE website.

There are various levels of programme which when completed lead to a Bronze, Silver or Gold DofE Award, check our DofE page for more information and information on how to enrol.

Detached Team

We work with you, the young people of Redbridge on the streets, estates and parks, who are not accessing existing youth services in Redbridge. Email Youth Service for more information.

Other ways to get involved

There are many venues across Redbridge open for young people aged from 7 to 19 years to visit.

Get involved in sport activities, including boxing, basketball and table tennis.

Our youth club at Hainault Youth Centre not only provides workshops and sessions, but also provides additional support with homework as well as advice and guidance. 

ELOP provides a range of social activities for young people in the LGBTQ+ community.  Activities include mentoring, youth clubs and more.

  • Youth Groups for 12-15's - online every Tuesday 5 to 6.30pm
  • Youth Groups for 15-18's - online every Tuesday 7 to 8.30pm
  • Free 1-2-1 online mentoring.  You can refer yourself or another young person

Vision provide many activities and services for young people.  They have a Sports Club Directory and a number of regular activities which include musical theatre and youth fitness sessions.  Details of these can be found on the Vision website.
