UK Parliamentary General Election
The date of the next general election has not yet been announced.
Following the repeal of the Fixed-term Parliaments Act 2011, the new Dissolution and Calling of Parliament Act 2022 gives the latest date parliament can dissolve as “the beginning of the day that is the fifth anniversary of the day on which it first met”.
The current government first met on 17 December 2019, so the fifth anniversary of that date is 17 December 2024 which will automatically dissolve Parliament, unless it has been dissolved beforehand by the King.
The election will need to be held 25 working days after that date.

(Petitions) (England) Regulations 2011
In accordance with Regulation 4(1) of the above regulations the number that is equal to 5% of the number of local government electors shown in the revised register of electors having effect on the 15 February 2024 is:

This figure will have effect for the purposes of determining the validity of Petitions presented from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.
The number equal to 5% of the local government electors for 2025 will be published within 14 days of the 15 February 2025. If this number is less than 10471, the number to be used for verification purposes in relation to any petition submitted for the period beginning on the date of publication of the lower number until 31 March 2025 shall also be that lower number.
