Validation requirements
We need specific information from you to validate your planning application. Without this the application will be invalid, which will delay the statutory start date of your application until the required information is received.
What is required includes an application form, plans and supporting reports in line with our Local Planning Application Requirements (LPAR) (PDF 794KB). Please note your application may be subject to an additional administration charge if it is invalid. Please see the above link for full details.
Process change
For applications submitted from 4 April 2022 our administration charge will be changing.
In 2019 Redbridge Planning Service introduced an administration charge relating to invalid applications. The aim of this charge was to encourage a positive change in behaviour to reduce the high rate of invalid applications submitted to Redbridge. Invalidating an application incurs additional time and financial resources from the Council Planning Service (which is also a cost to the tax payer) – unfortunately this demand is not sustainable given the current financial and capacity pressures on local authority resources. Invalidating an application also slows down the application process, and results in longer waiting times for us to validate new applications. By reducing the number of invalid applications we can streamline the application process, and we will be able to provide agents and applicants a faster service.
For applications submitted from 4 April 2022 we will be altering how our administration charge works – the charge will be levied immediately upon invalidation of an application (this is detailed on our validation requirements, linked above on p.10).
This change will take effect for a period of 6 months at which time we will review the situation and process and make changes as necessary.
Should you need any further information please submit a contact form.
