Planning application fees and fast track service

Planning application fees

Most planning applications require a fee in order to be processed. You can check the cost of your application on the Planning Portal's fee calculator. The calculator tool will ask you a few questions to help you find out the correct fee.

You can also check the Planning Portal's fee guidance for further information.

How to pay

You can pay online or by telephone. No other methods of payment are acceptable. If a cheque is received, this will be securely disposed of (not returned to the sender).

Online

You can pay the statutory application fee securely online through the Planning Portal when you submit your application. This is the fastest way to submit and pay for your application.

Please note you cannot pay fast track or administration charges through the Planning Portal (as these are Redbridge services and not a part of the statutory application fee). Please see details in the phone section below on how to pay these charges.

Phone

All payments directly to the Redbridge Planning Service must be made using our automated telephone payments line. Please call 0208 708 4708 and press 9 for Planning Services.

When making payment, you will need to input your Redbridge reference number without any letters or special characters (you cannot use your Planning Portal PP number). For example, paying for planning application 0100/21 - you would need to type 010021 into our automated payment line. If you use the incorrect reference number when paying then this will delay your application.

We currently offer a fast-track service for householder applications (£239), prior approval householder applications (£120), and certificates of lawfulness proposed (£120). This service guarantees you a decision notice in writing within a maximum of 5 working days of the conclusion of the statutory 21 day consultation period. As certificates of lawfulness proposed do not have a statutory consultation period this service guarantees you a decision notice in writing within a maximum of 10 working days from receipt of a valid application.

The request for fast track must be stated within the proposal description on the application form on submission. Your application will not be eligible for fast track if you do not do this. We will not consider changing an application to be considered under fast track once it has been validated.

How to pay

All fast track payments must be made by our automated telephone line directly to Redbridge. This payment cannot be made until your application has been received and registered – you will also have up to 1 week after validation to make payment. You cannot use your Planning Portal PP number to make this payment – you must use your Redbridge reference number which we will send to you.

Once you have received your Redbridge reference number please call 020 8708 4708 and press 9 for planning.

When making payment you will need to input your reference number without any letters or special characters. For example, paying for planning application 0100/21 - you would need to type 010021 into our automated payment service. If you use the incorrect reference number when paying then this will delay your application.
