Important: beware of fraudulent PCN text messages
We have been made aware of a scam involving fraudulent text messages claiming to request payment of a Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs).
We do not issue PCNs or collect payments via text message. Official PCNs are only issued directly at the vehicle or sent by post. Do not click on any suspicious links or provide payment details via text.
If you receive a message like this, delete it immediately and do not respond to it. Stay vigilant and protect your personal information.
If you think your ticket (Penalty Charge Notice) was issued incorrectly you can challenge a Penalty Charge Notice (within 28 days).

What you need
To pay a ticket you need:
- the PCN number (this is on your ticket or letter)
- your vehicle registration (number plate)
- your credit or debit card details
How much you need to pay
The charge (fine) for a Penalty Charge Notice in Redbridge is:
- £160, for serious offences (for example, parking on a yellow line or on a footway/pavement)
- £110 for less serious offences (for example, parking in a pay and display bay without a valid session)
You can pay with a credit or debit card.
Discount for paying early
Your fine will be discounted by 50% if you pay in the first 14 days (or 21 days for a ticket issued on CCTV evidence).
For example, if the fine is £160, within the discount period you will pay £80.
Lost tickets
If you’ve lost your ticket and do not know the PCN number, you can request this from us.
You’ll need:
- your vehicle registration (number plate)
- date that you got the ticket or letter, if you can remember it
- approximate time
