Apply for a school drop off and pick up parking permit
You can get a valid parking permit to park in a designated car park near your child’s school.
The permit is only to drop off or pick up your child from school. It cannot be used for any other reason.
The permit is only valid for the school year. It will expire on the 31 July of the relevant year.
Where to use the permit?
The permit can only be used in the following car parks near the school:
- Craven Gardens
- Derby Road
- South Woodford
- Goodmayes Road
- Grove Park
- Seven Kings
- High Road South Woodford
- Sir James Hawkey Hall
If you buy a parking permit, it’ll not guarantee that a parking space will be available.
The permit can only be used during school term time between:
- 8am to 9.30am in the morning
- 2.30pm to 4.15pm in the afternoon
While you wait for your permit to arrive You’ll not be able to park in your parking zone until you receive the parking permit and can display this in your car.

You'll need to order or renew a school parking permit online. You'll need a My Redbridge account.

You’ll need
- your vehicle registration (number plate)
- the school details (the car park where you’ll stay)
What happens next
Your permit will be sent by post within 10 working days to your home address.
How much parking permit costs
You can order a parking permit for 12 months.
- 12 month - £39.60
- Dual (for two cars) - £71.50
Cancel your permit
A refund will be issued for each full calendar month left on the permit. There is a £27.50 admin fee which will be taken from the total refund amount.
We’ll refund the amount to the same card you used to order the parking permit.
You’ll need to email parkingpermits@redbridge.gov.uk with evidence that your original permit has been destroyed.
Change details of parking permit online
You need to update your parking permit for it to stay valid when you:
- move school (in Redbridge)
- buy or start using a new vehicle
- change your name

What happens next
After you have made the application, email parkingpermits@redbridge.gov.uk with evidence that the previous permit has been destroyed.
Your new permit will be sent by post within 10 working days to your home address.
Lost or stolen parking permit
If a permit is lost or stolen you must tell us immediately.
Replacement permits cost £27.50. There is no charge if the permit was stolen and you provide evidence of this. The new permit will show the same expiry date as your previous permit.
Lost permits
You'll need to confirm the permit reference number.
Stolen permits
Report it to the police right away.
