Apply for parking dispensation

A parking dispensation allows you to temporarily park your vehicle on a single yellow line. You’ll be able to do this for a limited time only.  

We do not give dispensations on double yellow lines or where there is a loading ban enforced.  

 

What you can use a dispensation for  

You can apply for a parking dispensation if:  

• there is a need to carry out specific work 
• your vehicle is too big to fit in a normal parking bay 
• there is a need to be as close to the premises as possible for loading or unloading goods and materials 
• there is no alternative parking space available 

 

Cost 

The cost is:  

• £27.00 per car space (5 meters) per day  
• £67.00 per space per week 

You’ll need to pay an administration fee of £55. 

 

How to apply 

The application process can take up to seven working days. 

You’ll need: 

• your contact details 
• your reasons for a parking suspension 
• your vehicle registration number  
• the exact location of the parking space you want to suspend  

 

 

 

What happens next? 

We’ll let you know our decision within seven working days.  

If we approve your application, 

• we’ll call you to take payment 
• we’ll put up notices to let other road users know of the change. 

 

Cancel or change your dispensation 

You will need to contact us. Email parkingandtrafficenforcement@redbridge.gov.uk 

It’s not normally possible to change the location or start date of a dispensation booking with less than five working days’ notice.  

If the dispensation notices have already been put on street, we cannot amend the booking. You’ll not be given a refund.
