Leader's update - Friday 9 October 2026

Dear Neighbours,
This week I want to talk to you about the future of our borough.
We are now consulting on our Corporate Plan and our Borough Vision, two important documents that will help shape the future of Redbridge.
We’re consulting because we can’t plan for the borough’s future without hearing from the people who know it best: you, our residents.
I love living in Redbridge, and I know the vast majority of you do too. But that doesn’t mean we can’t make it an even better place to live, work, grow up and grow old. A place where there’s something for everyone and where everyone, whatever their background, feels like they belong.
We can build more good-quality social and affordable homes, so that more people have a decent and secure home to live in. We’ll continue to invest in our parks and green spaces, ensuring everyone can benefit from them for years to come. Things like these, along with Broadmead Road Bridge and Wanstead Pool and School, are right at the top of my list.
But there will be plenty of other things that matter to you, and I want to hear about them.
We can’t shape Redbridge’s future alone. It will take all of us, pulling together in the same direction, with a shared goal of protecting what makes our borough special and making it even better for the future.
So please do respond to the consultation, which is now live on Let’s Talk Redbridge, and give us your thoughts. This is your chance to have a say in the future of the place we all call home.
Finally, with Navratri beginning on Sunday, I want to wish everyone celebrating across Redbridge a very happy Navratri. I hope you have a wonderful few days celebrating and spending time with family, friends and loved ones. It is always special to see communities across our borough coming together to celebrate, and I hope this year’s Navratri is a joyful one for you all.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Kam
