Calling all landlords with properties in Ilford Town and Valentines.

Our new selective property licensing scheme for rented properties in Ilford Town and Valentines (known as scheme 3) will be live and open for applications on Wednesday 1 November 2023. Selective licensing applies to most rented properties occupied by single households.

To find out if you require a licence please use our interactive map to check if you are required to obtain a licence under the new scheme. If you already have a selective licence for a property in these wards and it is still in date, it remains valid until the expiry date printed on the licence. 

You can apply for a selective property licence by using our Online Property Licence Application System. from the 1 November 2023. You can also submit applications for a Mandatory HMO or Additional HMO property licence now.

Remember, it’s important to get a property licence, for those with an existing licence, it is important you continue to comply with all the licence conditions. Failure to do so, could lead to a financial penalty notice fine of up to £30,000 per offence or prosecution in court, where the fine is unlimited, plus additional sanctions.
