Redbridge Council is inviting residents to celebrate the annual Fabula Festival as part of National Libraries Week.

The Fabula Festival is a unique weeklong celebration of the art of storytelling and its power to transform lives and a celebration of everything that happens in Redbridge Libraries.

Aimed at families and children, Fabula Festival is delivered through a lively programme of performances, children’s events, author talks, films, writing programmes, workshops and specially commissioned arts projects.

It encourages residents of all ages to develop their enjoyment of reading, writing and story-making through participation in high-quality arts activities and events.

This year, Redbridge Council, in partnership with Vision RCL, will host a vast selection of free events, which include:

  • School visits with Janelle McCurdy at Keith Axon and Hainault Libraries and Children’s Laureate Joseph Coelho at Kenneth More Theatre as part of the Fabula Festival Education Programme
  • Story Building sessions, puppet shows and the Laugh_able Comedy Night at the Fabula Fringe taking place in branch libraries.
