Redbridge Council hosts tenant Information events to support private renters
Published: 8 July 2025
We are inviting private renters across the borough to attend a series of drop-in events offering practical advice and support on their rights as tenants.
Whether renting through an estate agent or directly from a landlord, residents are encouraged to speak to our housing team for help with common tenancy issues, including understanding responsibilities, resolving disputes and accessing support services. Attendees will also receive a free Tenant Information Guide tailored to renting in Redbridge.
The events will take place at:
- The Exchange Shopping Centre, Ilford on Wednesday 9 and 23 July, 12pm – 4pm
- Redbridge Central Library, Ilford on Wednesday 6 and 20 August, 12.30pm – 3.30pm
The initiative forms part of the Council’s ongoing work to improve housing standards in the borough and make it easier for residents to get the help they need. It follows a commitment in the borough’s housing strategy to improve the quality of homes and make council services more accessible and responsive.
Councillor Saima Ahmed, Cabinet Member for Housing and Homelessness, said, “We know that renting privately can be challenging, especially when things go wrong. These sessions are about making sure our residents know their rights and have somewhere to turn if they need advice or support. By meeting people where they are and providing clear, accessible information, we’re making it easier for tenants to feel secure, confident and well-informed in their homes.”
