Whipps Cross Hospital: statement from Leader of Redbridge Council

The Leader of Redbridge Council, Cllr Kam Rai, has issued a statement in response to the Government’s announcement concerning Whipps Cross Hospital.

He said:

“We will continue to work closely with the new Government to ensure that the vital development of Whipps Cross Hospital remains a priority.

 “The redevelopment of Whipps Cross is essential for the provision of healthcare to people living in the west of Redbridge, and we have been frustrated by repeated delays in funding allocation by the previous Government.

“We are seeking assurance from Whitehall that plans to redevelop Whipps Cross Hospital will go ahead. The pressing need for action is clear, as the proposed redevelopment will improve health outcomes for around 400,000 residents across Redbridge and Waltham Forest.”
