Leader of the Council Jas Athwal issues statement on Whipps Cross funding

After years of empty promises, the Government’s decision to delay rebuilding Whipps Cross Hospital is nothing short of a disgrace.
The hospital is outdated and desperately in need of refurbishment to meet the needs of our growing and aging communities. Leaving local people in limbo waiting for investment promised years ago is unacceptable.
The Government must reverse this shameful decision and keep its promise to the people of Redbridge and Waltham Forest.
Whipps Cross cannot wait until 2025.
