Redbridge offers free tickets to Aladdin pantomime, making children's wishes come true!

Published: 16 December 2022

With many hard-hit families needing to tighten their belts this Christmas, Redbridge Council, in partnership with Vision RCL, is providing a range of free and discounted pantomime tickets to children and young people.

This special offer will allow children to enjoy hours of unadulterated fun at Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford, which is now showing the festive classic Aladdin at the iconic east London venue until Monday January 8. The pantomime at Kenneth More has previously been lauded as one of the best value-for-money shows in London – and this year is no exception.

Free tickets are now available to children and young people enrolled in the Redbridge Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme. The Redbridge HAF programme provides healthy food and enriching activities for children and young people over the school holidays, with free places for eligible children.

Redbridge has also provided complimentary tickets to local schools while also offering children who recently arrived in the UK as part of the Homes for Ukraine programme the chance to enjoy their first-ever pantomime.

In addition, subsidised tickets have also been set aside for several local organisations that work with some of our older, more vulnerable residents. These include Di's Diamonds, a group connected to Age UK; Links Place, an organisation that cares for adults with dementia; and Woodbine Day Centre, which cares for adults with special needs.

The Deputy Leader of Redbridge Council, Cllr Kam Rai, said: "We know that many families in Redbridge are finding things tough right now and will feel the pinch this Christmas due to the cost of living crisis.

“By offering these tickets as a small gesture, we're giving families the chance to get into the Christmas spirit while enjoying a truly fantastic show at our local theatre.

"Children and many of our vulnerable adults love the pantomime experience at Kenneth More; it's important they don't miss out. This is just one of the many ways we are trying to support our most vulnerable neighbours this winter."

There is still plenty of availability for Aladdin. You can book online or call the Box Office on 020 8708 8800.
