Redbridge students celebrate A-Level triumphs as Council Leader praises resilience and achievement

Published: 13 August 2025

Students across Redbridge are celebrating a wave of success as they receive their A-Level results, marking the culmination of years of hard work, determination, and support from their schools and families.

Redbridge Council extended heartfelt congratulations to students, teachers, support staff, and parents, acknowledging the collective effort that made this year’s achievements possible.

To mark the occasion, the Leader of Redbridge Council, Councillor Kam Rai, visited Caterham High School, where he met students eagerly opening their results envelopes. Among them were stories of remarkable perseverance and triumph.

Marisa Peters, who studied History, English Literature, and Philosophy, is heading to the University of Durham to study Law. She earned an A in History, an A in English Literature, and a B in Philosophy—an outstanding result that sets her up for a promising future.

Rony Salazar, who arrived in the UK from El Salvador seeking asylum in 2021, secured an apprenticeship after achieving the required grades. His journey impressed employers during his Year 12 work experience, and he will soon begin working with a neighbouring London borough.

Cllr Rai praised the students’ achievements, saying: “Huge congratulations to students across Redbridge, who have worked incredibly hard for their results today. Everyone opening their results should feel immensely proud. Today I’ve met some wonderful young people who have overcome huge disadvantages to achieve fantastic grades. They now have exciting careers ahead of them, with the world at their feet.

“I would also like to thank the borough’s schools, teaching staff, governors, and all those involved in PTA bodies for their exceptional commitment to nurturing students and preparing them for the next chapter of their lives.”
