Vision RCL and Redbridge Council are pleased to announce the eagerly anticipated Grand Opening of 'The Green Café' at Christchurch Green, Wanstead.

Christchurch Green is one of Redbridge's most beautiful open spaces and hosts many fantastic events throughout the year, including the annual Wanstead Festival.

This area is very popular, especially in the summer when families enjoy picnics on the grass and children enjoy hours of fun in the play area. It's safe to say this park has everything you need but to make things even better we have opened 'The Green Café' for people to enjoy hot and cold drinks and a selection of cakes, muffins, ice creams and snacks.

Martin Solder, Chair of Trustees for Vision RCL, said 'I am delighted to see the opening of The Green Café on Christchurch Green. It is a beautiful open space and the new café will provide more for those who use the space and also the wider local community.'

Cllr Kam Rai, Deputy Leader of Redbridge Council and Cabinet Member for Finance, Leisure and Culture, said: "Christchurch Green is one of our much-loved open spaces, and this new facility will only enhance it further. The Green Café is the perfect place to meet up for a coffee or snack with friends and enjoy being out in the open. It's already evident that the café is proving extremely popular with people in Wanstead."

The official opening took place on Wednesday 24 August and was attended by the Mayor of Redbridge, Councillor Thavathuray Jeyaranjan, and local ward councillors.
