Our Parks Scheme

Vision encourages residents to take more opportunities to get fit and active in parks and open spaces, giving them the chance to enjoy their local area and embrace what the borough has to offer.

Our Parks scheme aims to commit to the actions needed to bring and build stronger and more sustainable communities together, promoting a healthy borough which is proud of its parks and open spaces by encouraging maintenance of these spaces. By volunteering in our parks you can share and learn a number of new skills as well as meet local groups and other volunteers too.

Redbridge has a huge range of parks and open spaces to work in, which means that there are plenty of opportunities within the borough to get involved with many different activities such as:

  • Planting flowers
  • Maintaining planted areas and hard surfaces
  • Looking after spring and summer bedding
  • Litter removal

There are a number of different groups that could benefit from the Our Parks scheme such as Friends of Parks, nature enthusiasts, schools, children's groups and more.

If you have a keen interest in your local park or open space we invite you to form or join a friends group.

Friends groups help keep the Borough’s parks a place for everyone to enjoy.

Made up of local residents and parks users, the groups help Vision RCL and the Council:

  • manage their local open space
  • carry out nature conservation work
  • foster community engagement links with schools
  • advise Vision/LBR on what they want to see through consultation

Friends groups help keep the Borough’s parks a place for everyone to enjoy.
