Eastern Edge Film Fund Grant

2017 to 2018 grant

Two grants of up to £4,000 are available to produce an original short film.

The award also includes:

  • free professional support from an Executive Producer to develop your project
  • access to a centralised training programme
  • production support for the successful film making teams
  • opportunities for public screenings including the London Calling Showcase and Awards at the BFI Southbank

In previous years, the eastern Edge Film Fund shorts have won the £2,000 Jury Award, as well as the £10,000 Best Cinematography Award.

Two awards of up to £4,000 are available. This fund supports emerging and experienced filmmakers living, working or studying in one of the two boroughs to produce an original short film. The award also includes professional support from an executive producer, training from industry professionals, access to production facilities, and opportunities for public screenings. For enquiries about Eastern Edge Film Fund, contact Anton Califano.

We received 37 applications to this year's programme; six shortlisted film making teams received training in January and February to support the development of their projects and we are pleased to announce that the following films have been selected for funding:

Breathe

London Calling Plus is a short film production scheme specifically for Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) talent with awards up to £15,000. We are delighted to also announce producer Kelly van Osch and writer/director Chi Yu who were funded last year by Eastern Edge for Distance have been selected by Film London for their new project Chrysalis.
