We have fantastic facilities across Redbridge for all types of sports. Whether you are looking to try a new sport or pursue your passion, the borough offers something for everyone. Why not enjoy the facilities on your door step. 

Cricklefields Stadium 

Visit Cricklefields Stadium for a vast range of sports, including Olympic sports like track, shot put, hammer throwing and discus.  

Cricklefields Stadium encourages runners and athletes of all standards and abilities. It also acts as home ground for Ilford Athletic Club. 

They offer pay as you go access or an annual membership offering unlimited access to the track.

What facilities are there? 

Facilities include triple and long-jump run-ups and pits, an eight-lane track, as well as areas for field events such as shot put, hammer throwing, javelin and discus.

There is also a full-sized floodlit football pitch used by Ilford FC and Barkingside FC.

Public times for track use 

Public track use is allowed at the following times: 

  • Tuesdays from 4pm to 10pm (Ilford Athletic Club Training sessions take place at 6pm to 10pm)
  • Thursday from 4pm to 10pm (Ilford Athletic Club Training sessions take place at 6pm to 10pm)
  • Fridays from 9am to 4pm
  • Saturdays from 9am to 12pm

Ashton Playing Fields 

Ashton Playing Fields are athletics facilities in Woodford, which can be used for sporting events, games, competitions, track and field.

You can have pay as you go access or an annual membership offering unlimited access to the track.

What facilities are there? 

There is an eight lane track, competition specification hammer, two long jump/triple jump pits and javelin and shot put areas as well as high jump and pole vault facilities.

Facilities also include a 2G Astro Turf pitch which can be perfect for a range of activities including football and hockey and three full sized and one junior grass football pitches for hire.  

Public times for track use 

Public track use is allowed at the following times: 

  • Mondays from 7.30am to 9pm
  • Tuesdays from 7.30am to 10pm (Woodford Green Athletic Club Training session takes place 6pm to 10pm)
  • Wednesdays from 7.30am to 3pm
  • Thursdays from 7.30am-2pm (Woodford Green Athletic Club Training session takes place 6pm to 10pm)
  • Fridays from 7.30am to 9pm
  • Saturdays from 12 to 5pm
  • Sundays from 9am to 5pm
