These parks are perfect for a long relaxing stroll, getting close to nature or if you just want the kids to have some fun.

Valentines Park  

This award-winning, Green Flag park is next to Valentines Mansion and Gardens.

The park has a diverse tree collection including a 300 year old field maple, ornamental gardens, flowering meadows and a network of accessible paths for you to enjoy.  

Children can enjoy two different play areas as well as two different cafes, Gardener's Cottage Café and Valentines Park Café, which both have a great selection of food and beverages.  

The park also features one of the biggest outdoor gyms in London. There's also a range of facilities such as basketball court, cycling, lake with rowing boats for hire, and a multi-use games area.

Our beautifully kept historic gardens are open all year round for all to enjoy. Take a lovely stroll through the Old English Garden, Kitchen Garden, Victorian Rose Garden and more.

Ilford War Memorial Garden

Come and enjoy the peace and serenity of these beautiful gardens which were created in the early 1920s. 

The Memorial was built to recognise and remember the 1,159 fallen during the First World War from Ilford.

Loxford Park

Loxford Park is a large park that has a lot of mature trees and shrubs that provide a great habitat for wildlife and birds. 

It benefits from an old sunken garden that is popular with park users wishing to rest from walking and also popular with skaters who enjoy a small skate park in this area.

The park has a fantastic play area featuring a huge tunnel, mounds to run up and down, boulders and planting and a nest swing that can be enjoyed together by children of all ages and abilities.

A new sensory playground, specifically desgined with the development of younger children in mind, as well as those with special educational needs has recently opened. 

The new equipment includes: 

  • Musical chimes
  • A storytelling corner 
  • Planters
  • Sensory spinners
  • A sensory circuit including a slide, balance beams, stepping posts and a clatter bridge
  • Chalkboard and whiteboard

Seven Kings Park

The park has lots of features from formal rose beds for you to enjoy to plenty of seating so you can relax while out for a long stroll.

The skate park in the southern end of the park is very popular among children and young adults.

There is also a children’s play area on site that is very popular at weekends with families.

South Park

This Edwardian park has preserved most of its original features from over 100 years ago such as a large lake, an abundance of large mature trees, shrubs and flower beds.

A popular open space with strollers, joggers and dog walkers who enjoy the pleasant surroundings as well as a number of facilities.

Uphall Recreation Ground

Uphall Recreation Ground is a modest sized open space that offers local residents the chance to escape the hustle and bustle of Ilford Lane.

A popular green space for relaxing in, dog walking and keeping the children active whilst taking advantage of the well-stocked playground near the entrance at the junction of Lowbrook Road and Cecil Road.

Westwood Recreation Ground

A medium sized recreation ground that enjoys a children’s play facility with a variety of play equipment, informal areas for casual sport and recreation. 

There are a lot of mature trees within this area and it makes for a perfect setting when enjoying a leisurely stroll.
