Fix It Together
Don’t throw it out—let’s fix it together! 🛠️⚡ Got a broken electronic item at home? Bring it down to Goodmayes Library on Saturday 24 October and learn how to bring it back to life.
This isn’t a drop-off service. It’s a chance to sit alongside a repairer, roll up your sleeves, and understand how your stuff actually works. Save money, keep working materials out of the bin, and gain the confidence to fix things yourself.
Plus, come and see some unusual examples of human-powered technology:
🥤 Bicycle-powered blender — see how pedalling can provide the power to blend a smoothie.
🎶 Pedal-powered Henry Hoover sound system — discover how a humble vacuum cleaner can be transformed into a human-powered sound system.
We’ll demonstrate and explain how these projects work, including the electronics and mechanics behind them.
Free, just drop-in. Only 1 item per person, please. Last repair intake at 3:30pm.
Supported by Transition Town IG3, ELWA, and London Borough of Redbridge.
