The newly updated Barking Market, also known as Barking Town Centre Market, is located along East Street in Barking approximately 5 minutes’ walk from Barking station. The market currently operates with approximately 80 stalls offering a variety of quality goods complemented by a food court area selling street food from many different cultures.

Redbridge Museum can be found on the second floor of the library and visitors can explore 200,000 years of local history. The museum runs exhibitions, family events, a schools education programme and supports local communities to explore heritage. The library is also home to exciting new spaces; Lab Central, Hub Central and Redbridge Heritage Centre which opened in 2017. The spaces enable digital learning, help businesses to develop and connect residents to the Borough’s rich heritage. Located on the ground floor, visitors of the library can enjoy food and beverages at the Hardback cafe.
