Ukrainian nationals with Homes for Ukraine visa
If you’re a Ukrainian national with a Homes for Ukraine visa and looking for your own property to rent, you can apply for a Council Tax discount.
This discount does not apply to other schemes such as The Ukraine Family Scheme or The Ukraine Extension Scheme.
Who can apply?
You’ll be entitled to a 50% discount from your Council Tax if all of the following apply:
- you're a Ukrainian national
- you're living in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme
- you’re living in your own accommodation (not in your sponsor’s home)
- any other adult in the property is also living in the UK under the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme
If you're on a low income, you can check if you can get more money off your Council Tax.
How to apply
You’ll need:
- your Council Tax reference number (if you have registered for Council Tax)
- names and date of birth of all adults living in the property
- copies of the Homes for Ukraine visa for all adults living in the property
