Coronavirus: business grants
The following government funded support grants are available to businesses that have been impacted by the restrictions.
Restart Grants (closed)
In the March budget the chancellor announced new restart grants for non -essential retail, and also for those in hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care, and gym sectors.
Non – essential retail will be entitled to up to £6,000, and Hospitality, Accommodation, Leisure, Personal care, and Gyms will be entitled to up to £18,000 both based on rateable value.
Grants have been paid to businesses that received a previous Local Restrictions Grant. There is no requirement to make further application.
Businesses eligible to Restart Grant that have not made a previous application for a Local Restriction Support Grant will be able to apply from 8 April until 30 June 2021.
Additional Restrictions Grant (closed)
This grant is for businesses not entitled to other grants or do not pay business rates.
if you were previously awarded a grant under this scheme during either round 1 or 2, please do not reapply.

This scheme is now closed
The scheme will close after 1000 applications have been received, or on the 21 July , whichever is the sooner.
The award will be a one-off payment for a maximum of 5 months ending 31 March 2021.

There is no formal appeal process but if we have notified you that you are not entitled to a grant fund payment you can request a review of the decision. Grants can only be paid if the eligibility criteria set by the government is met. For more information about eligibility criteria visit GOV.UK
