National Licensing Hours Extension for FIFA World Cup Last-16 Match

Redbridge licensed premises are advised that the Home Secretary has issued a national Licensing Hours Order for the FIFA World Cup Last-16 match between England and Mexico, kicking off at 01:00 hours on Monday 6 June 2026.

This means the sale of alcohol for consumption on the premises may continue until 05:00 hours on Monday 6 June 2026 without the need for a Temporary Event Notice. However, all existing licence conditions still apply.
Please note the extension does not apply to the following licensable activities:

  • Sale by retail of alcohol for consumption off the premises
  • Regulated entertainment
  • Late-night refreshment

Premises must continue to uphold the licensing objectives, including preventing crime and disorder, ensuring public safety, preventing public nuisance, and protecting children from harm. Any conditions relating to external areas, beer gardens, noise control, dispersal, and other restrictions remain fully enforceable.

Premises are also reminded to manage crowds responsibly, prevent glass from leaving the premises, and keep pavements and surrounding areas clear of litter and debris.

Redbridge Council and the Metropolitan Police may carry out compliance checks during the event. Failure to comply with licence conditions may result in enforcement action.
