Consumer advice

Consumer advice is about understanding such things as your rights when purchasing goods and services.

We work in partnership with Citizens Advice consumer service to provide clear, practical advice that will help you:

  • sort out problems and disagreements with suppliers of goods or services you have purchased
  • know your rights as consumers
  • find out how to avoid scams and report them
  • go about finding a reputable trader

Where there are cases of reported criminal behaviour such as scams, unsafe goods and rogue traders, the Citizens Advice consumer service will refer your details to the relevant local authority trading standards service who will decide on what to do next.

You can contact The Citizens Advice consumer service via telephone on 03454 04 05 06 (English) or 03454 04 05 05 (Welsh) or via the Citizens Advice consumer service website .
