Duke of Kent visits Redbridge

Published: 21 Feb 2017

Today, along with employees of the Welcome Centre, Redbridge College and Transport for London (TFL), I welcomed His Royal Highness, The Duke of Kent to Redbridge.

We showcased some of the things that make Redbridge great, including the amazing and important work that is undertaken by the Welcome Centre in ensuring those in need are looked after and supported to gain employment.

The students at Redbridge College made an exquisite selection of food for The Duke to taste.

We were also fortunate enough to take a look at the progress of the Elizabeth Line CrossRail Project at the simulation centre that is based in Redbridge, teaching new drivers about the line and new rolling stock. It is always exciting to welcome members of the Royal Family to our great borough, and we look forward to further Royal Visits in future.
