Every Sunday they meet to worship Jesus our Saviour and to encourage each other. Our services from time to time include songs, from different cultures and languages. We also include prayers, personal stories of what the Lord is doing in our lives, Bible readings and a message, and there is time to chat over tea and coffee afterwards.

Redbridge Heritage Centre

Redbridge Heritage Centre Redbridge Central Library Clements Road Ilford , IG1 1EA

Redbridge Heritage Centre is the local archive and local and family history service for the London Borough of Redbridge. It is run as a joint service with Redbridge Museum and holds the largest collection of materials in the Borough on the history of Ilford, Wanstead, Woodford and Redbridge. The Heritage Centre can be found on the second floor of Redbridge Central Library in Ilford. Please let us know which resources or archives you wish to view. Each session is 2.5 hours and are available 10.30am-1pm or 1.30pm-4pm, Tuesday-Friday and every other Saturday. At the end of a morning session, if an afternoon session is available, customers may also book the afternoon session if required. Up to four study spaces and two PC spaces (including one digital microfilm reader for newspapers) are available per session.

Valentines Mansion

Valentines Mansion was built between 1696-7. It is considered by English Heritage to be "of outstanding architectural or historic interest or of great importance to the nation's built heritage" and is Grade II* listed. It was a family home for a gentleman of high status. Suitable to hire for award ceremonies, parties, presentations/seminars, private functions, team building courses, weddings. Valence House Museum

Valance House Museum in Dagenham is set in one of only five surviving manor houses in the area. The house is surrounded by parkland and, partially, by a moat. It now houses the Art Gallery and History Museum of the Borough, displaying an impressive collection of artefacts and archives which tell the impressive story of the people who lived in and around the Dagenham and Barking area. The rooms in the Museum have been restored to their original state. Stone and Bronze Age tools can be seen in the Museum, as well as a display about the fishing industry in Barking, which was important up until Victorian times. A collection of Fanshawe family portraits are also on show. These were presented to the Borough of Dagenham in 1963 and are the Museum's crown jewels.

St Margarets Parish Church

The Parish Church of St Margaret of Antioch is situated in the grounds of the ruins of Barking Abbey. The building dates from the 13th century and was originally a chapel before being made a parish church around 1300. Parts of the original roof appear to have been made from Norman masonry. Many historic events have taken place at the church including the marriage of Captain James Cook (the first western explorer who landed in Australia) to Elizabeth Batts, a woman who lived in Barking.

Curfew Tower (Barking Abbey)

Curfew Tower is the biggest remaining part of Barking Abbey and was built in 1460, but the upper story chapel is built of 12th or 13th century stone. The Tower is the entrance to St Margaret’s churchyard and is listed as a Grade II building. Only the ruins of the former great Abbey of Barking exist today. Some of the remains of the original building have recently been discovered. Jewellery, carved bone, pottery, gold thread and glassmaking have made Barking Abbey one of the most important archaeological and religious sites in Europe. The original building was destroyed in 870 by the Vikings after being built in 666. The site of the Abbey was used as a quarry and farm for around 400 years. In 1911 excavation began, and was carried out between the Town Council and the Morant Club. The remains of the church have been left exposed, and in 1975 St Margaret’s churchyard was opened as a conservation area.

Vestry House Museum

Vestry House Museum is the local history museum for Waltham Forest. It houses themed displays that capture the unique heritage of the local area including the famous Bremer Car, a Victorian parlour and displays on local manufacturers including Ensign, Britains and Wells-Brimtoy.

The Fan Museum
