Redbridge Fabula Festival 2026

Fabula Festival returns for 2026 for a summer full of fun, reading and creativity!

Redbridge’s annual Fabula Festival is a unique celebration of the arts and libraries and their power to transform lives. Join us for a lively programme of performances, children’s events, author talks, workshops and the very best in literature, music, drama, dance, film, art and technology. There’s something for all ages, tastes and abilities.

Fabula Festival Schools Programme

Fabula Festival is an annual arts and literature festival organised by Vision Redbridge Culture and Leisure. It’s a celebration of the power of libraries to transform young lives.

This year, the Redbridge Fabula Festival Schools Programme will run from 7-14 July – and we’re delighted to be hosting authors in libraries across the borough.

Pupils have the opportunity to buy the books in advance (and on the day) and have them personally signed by the authors.

This education programme is offered free to Redbridge schools on a first come first served basis.

Fabula Takes Over Redbridge Central

Redbridge Central Library will be bursting at the seams on Saturday 18 July, with a whole day of free family events in store.

We’ve got author visits, special story times, comic book workshops, dance and drama, plus a VR experience and lots of crafts and fun activities planned. Please see Vision website to know more about these events.

Come along, enjoy the fun!

Fabula Summer Activities

This year, Fabula Festival will be taking over a Redbridge Library branch near you, with some fun filled days of storytelling, crafts and activities. There’s something for all ages, tastes and abilities – from author and illustrator events, interactive storytelling and VR experiences!

And even if you can’t make one of our Take Over days, we’ve still got plenty plenty of activities in store. See what's on Vision website!

Fabula Reading Challenge

Calling all super kids aged 2-12 years!
Come and take part in a new reading challenge at Redbridge Libraries from 18 July to 31 August, where YOU get to decide how many books you read. Read whatever you enjoy and come and tell us about your favourite things to read!

We’ve got thousands of books and comics for you to discover this summer at your local branch or from home in our virtual library.

We’ll also have loads of cool people to listen to you read and chat to you about what you are reading.

When you finish the challenge you’ll get a certificate, a Completer’s Medal and be entered into a fantastic prize draw!
