A Book of People Like Me – Author Event with Joelle Avelino

Make friends, dream big, and share all the things that make you YOU. Take part in an inclusive and inspiring story time and draw along with Joelle Avelino, the talented illustrator behind the picture book A Book of People Like Me. A creative and interactive celebration of belonging for ages 3-7 and their grownups. Joelle Avelino is a Congolese and Angolan Illustrator who grew up in the United Kingdom. She is particularly motivated by the need for people from all races and backgrounds to see themselves in the world around them. Joelle has worked on several titles including Mama’s Sleeping Scarf written by best-selling author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Hey You! An Empowering Celebration of Growing Up Black, written by Dapo Adeola, winner of the British Book Awards Illustrated Book of the Year.
