Redbridge Youth Election 2020

Redbridge Youth Election 2020

The Redbridge Youth Election 2020 will take place between 3 and 13 February 2020. If you between 12 and 17 years old on 31 March 2020 and you live or study in Redbridge, then you could be the next Member of Youth Parliament (MYP) for Redbridge.

MYPs are elected across the country to represent the young people of their constituencies.  They produce a manifesto of what they hope to achieve in their year and students across Redbridge vote for who they want to represent them.  The successful MYPs, not only run the Youth Council, work on their manifestos and the council priorities, they also represent Redbridge nationally.  The MYPs meet with all of the MYPs across the UK to develop national campaigns and speak at the House of Commons to agree the main campaign for the coming year.   Last year over 12,500 votes were cast in the election and the current MYPs Amelia Crorie and Zainab Abari will be in the House of Commons on 8 November to debate the Make Your Mark issues.
