Shakespeare in Song

Songs from Shakespeare's plays interwoven with spoken poetry from his sonnets and plays. Traditional Elizabethan settings performed alongside timeless arrangements by English composers; Purcell, Quilter & Finzi and contemporary settings by Dring, Horovitz and Tippet.

Performer Lucy Stevens & Pianist Elizabeth Marcus have created "Another triumphant performance!" following on from their success with 'Kathleen Ferrier Whattalife!' and 'Ethyl Smith: Grasp the Nettle'.

"A remarkable performance, with magical, touching moments - the audience spellbound, the recitations beautifully delivered and subtly interwoven with the songs." - Nick Barnes, Cambridge Arts Society
