Community Crowdfunding with Spacehive

Redbridge Council is pleased to be working in partnership with Spacehive to deliver the #CommunityCrowdfunding programme. Local community groups and organisations in the borough will have the opportunity to create and fund projects which celebrate and improve their local areas.

For the spring 2022 funding round there will be a particular focus on the South Neighbourhood of the Borough (Cranbrook, Valentines, Ilford Town, Clementswood and Loxford wards) with £23,000 available from the Neighbourhood CIL fund to pledge to projects as long as projects meet the selection criteria and there are sufficient available funds.

Local community groups can bid for projects that vary in pledge scale from under £1,000 for smaller projects, to up £20,000 for larger projects. However, the Council will only pledge up to a maximum of £10,000 towards any project.

The public can show their support for projects by “liking” projects, pledging financial donations, and by pledging volunteer time in project wishlists.

To qualify for potential CIL match-funding, projects will need to meet the borough’s key objectives to:

  • Regenerate the borough
  • Be a great place to live with family
  • Tackle the root cause of our social challenges

Projects will be assessed by a Selection Panel to determine whether they meet the full selection criteria before awarding successful projects with an amount of match-funding.
