Community Crowdfunding with Spacehive
Redbridge Council is pleased to be working in partnership with Spacehive to launch the #CommunityCrowdfunding programme. Local community groups and organisations in the borough will have the opportunity to create and fund projects which celebrate and improve their local areas.
The council will have an amount of match-funding available to pledge towards local crowdfunding projects through the Neighbourhood Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), as long as projects meet the selection criteria and there are sufficient available funds.
Local community groups can bid for projects that vary in pledge scale from under £1,000 for smaller projects, to up £20,000 for larger projects.
The public can show their support for projects by “liking” projects, pledging financial donations and by pledging volunteer time in project wishlists.
To qualify for potential CIL match-funding, projects will need to meet the borough’s key objectives to:
- Regenerate the borough
- Be a great place to live with family
- Tackle the root cause of our social challenges
Projects will be assessed by a Selection Panel to determine whether they meet the full selection criteria before awarding successful projects with an amount of match-funding.
