Redbridge local lottery
Published: 11 September 2020
Redbridge council is launching ‘The Redbridge Local Lottery’, a new way for voluntary groups, community sector organisations and local charities to secure funding.
The lottery gives participants a chance to receive a portion of ticket sales, as 60p from every £1 ticket of the Lottery goes directly to charities, voluntary organisations and other good causes. Players of the lottery can win a £25,000 jackpot.
To find out how it works, the council is inviting all voluntary and community sector organisations in Redbridge to attend a virtual launch for the Redbridge Local Lottery on Wednesday 7 October, from 2-3pm.
The session will give attendees the chance to learn about how the lottery can benefit their organisation and how to get involved. A short presentation will be delivered by Gatherwell, who will be operating the lottery on behalf of Redbridge Council. Further advice and guidance will be given by council officers.
Cllr Helen Mary Coomb, Cabinet Member for Transformation & Engagement said:
“The voluntary, community and charity organisations in Redbridge provide essential services and the Redbridge Local lottery is an additional way of generating new funding for these groups. It gives organisations opportunities to develop new projects, sustain their current offer or maybe grow their resources so that they able to continue supporting our residents.
“I hope lots of organisation sign up to our October event to learn how the Redbridge Local Lottery can support them and put themselves forward as a good cause.”
Places can be booked via Eventbrite. The meeting will take place on Microsoft Teams and a link to the meeting will be sent out closer to the time.
