Council urges residents to secure their vote

Published: 13 September 2018

As part of the council’s annual voter registration canvass, over 100,000 forms have been sent to homes across the borough asking residents to check that their information held in the system is correct. This also ensures that anyone who has recently moved into the borough, or reached the voting age can be included on the register and is eligible to vote.

If residents do not respond, they will be visited by an electoral canvasser at their homes between September and October, asking occupiers to respond to the form at that time.

But don’t worry, you still have time to respond. If there are no changes to the information printed on the form sent to you please let us know by using the secure free phone number or website which you can find on the back of your form.  If there are changes you can complete and return the form using the prepaid envelope, or update the information for your household on the website by using the security code on the form delivered to you.
