Hundreds of local people turned out at Remembrance Day parades and services across Redbridge as the borough honoured those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to honour armed forces members who have died in the line of duty.
Starting last Friday, services took place at Snaresbrook Garden of Remembrance, Fairlop Waters Country Park, Woodford War Memorial, Hainault War Memorial and Wanstead War Memorial.
The Civic Service of Remembrance took place Sunday at Ilford Memorial Civic in Newbury Park. It was attended by the Royal British Legion, The Leader of Redbridge Council, Cllr Jas Athwal and the Mayor of Redbridge, Cllr Thavathuray Jeyaranjan.
Military and Services personnel paraded along the A12, whilst the congregation gathered for the start of the service, beginning with Symphonic Band and Youth Choir. The National Service took place at 11am followed by the wreath laying.
Cllr Jas Athwal, who also attended services in Fairlop and Woodford, said: "We gathered at the Ilford War Memorial to thank all who have served our country, reflect on their dedication and pay tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice to uphold our values and protect our way of life. We will remember them”
