Have your say on how to best preserve the Aldersbrook Conservation Area

Published: 17 October 2019

Redbridge Council is preparing a Character Appraisal and Management Plan for the Aldersbrook Conservation Area, and your views will help shape it.

An initial structured workshop is being held to hear opinions and ideas to help develop an up-to-date appraisal, and identify how to preserve and enhance the character and significance of the local area. This will include:

  • A review of the Conservation Area boundary
  • Assessment as to whether any additional controls over development, such as removal of permitted development rights, (through making of an Article 4 direction) are required
  • Discussion of updates to the Conservation Area guidance

Local residents are invited to take part in this structured workshop session on 24 October 2019, between 2:30 – 4:30 and then 6-8pm to be held at Aldersbrook Library.

Following on from this structured workshop, a full and formal consultation will take place to further enable residents to express their views – this will include drop-in sessions, which will take place towards the end of the year.  Therefore, this structured workshop is the beginning of the process and further consultation will take place.

Given the nature and intent of the of the structured workshop it is important to reserve a booking to attend this session, highlighting which session you would like to attend; please email historic.conservation@redbridge.gov.uk by 5pm Monday 21 October.
