Published: 22 March 2022

Tomorrow (Wednesday, 23 March 2022), Redbridge Council will support the National Day of Reflection', marking the second anniversary of the first Covid-19 lockdown.

It is a day to support the millions of people in the UK who've lost loved ones during the coronavirus pandemic and reflect on the lives of the people we've lost.

In support of this occasion, Redbridge Council has unveiled a video showcasing how everyone in the borough came together to help one another during the pandemic.

Redbridge Council stood shoulder to shoulder with local people, our NHS, public health teams, frontline heroes & volunteers, and together we helped keep Redbridge safe.

During the pandemic, Redbridge Council delivered many new services and new ways of supporting residents, such as:

• Delivering 1,700 packed lunches to vulnerable children
• Supporting 157 rough sleepers off the streets
• Signing up 654 volunteers
• Facilitating 200 pharmacy pickups
• Delivering 801 food parcels
• Making 19,486 calls to residents
• Sourcing 4.25m items of PPE
• Keeping 50 parks and open spaces open safely
