Redbridge children’s winning art work displayed at TfL stations for World Children’s Day

Winning artwork from two Redbridge schools were showcased at North Greenwich bus station earlier this year for World Children’s Day.
The winning designs were produced by children from Churchfields Junior School and Cleveland Road Primary School as part of a pan-London competition marking the day dedicated to children.
With over 300 entries to choose from, Churchfields did exceptionally well to make it to the final 11 designs.
As well as the roundel artwork another winner from Cleveland Road Primary School was chosen for their ‘Thoughts of the day’, which also went on display for London commuters to read and contemplate on their journey into the city.
The thought on display was: “Treat others the same way you would like to be when travelling”
The designs were chosen to show Londoners what made public transport great for children in the capital.
Both Churchfields Junior School and Cleveland Road Primary School are ‘Gold’ accredited TfL STARS schools, who are working hard to encourage active and sustainable travel with support from the councils Smarter Travel Team, and their own Junior Travel Ambassadors.
