SPACE is a leading visual arts organisation and has transformed the former Town Hall lending library into a free public art gallery, complete with new ramped entrance from the old carpark on Clements Road.

There are 35 studios for artists within the Town Hall. If you're interested in finding our more about the studios head to the SPACE website.

New billboard at SPACE

Local ceramic artist Yasmin Falahat has created a giant open air artwork for all to enjoy. Located outside the gallery at SPACE Ilford, at the rear of the Town Hall, the billboard titled "With these hands", is inspired by local stories of preparing and sharing food and aims to reflect Redbridge's multicultural heritage.

The artwork depicts images of Yasmin's fruit and vegetable ceramic pieces and celebrates our reconnection with family and friends as we emerge from lockdown.

Yasmin will be working with Redbridge Empowering the Deaf society on a series of weaving workshops, the results of which will be exhibited in the gallery alongside her ceramic pieces later in the summer when SPACE fully reopens.

In the meantime, look out for the SPACE QR codes near the billboard and scan them on your smartphone to learn more about the local story behind the artwork.
