COVID local support grant
The COVID local support grant scheme has enabled local authorities to ensure that vulnerable households do not go hungry or without essential items.
Funding has previously been made available to support foodbanks and any organisations who have been providing food support to local residents in Redbridge.
A further £40,000 is now available to foodbanks and other organisations who have been providing food support. Applications have now re-opened.
This funding is to help families get back on their feet as the economy recovers and should be used to fund food supplies or other essentials to vulnerable households. It should not be used for staffing costs, equipment or overheads.
How to apply
The Department of Work and Pensions has been clear that the money must be spent by 30 September 2021. We want to get applications in as quickly as possible so that we can promptly allocate funding.
Please submit your application by 5pm on Friday 23 July 2021 to firstname.lastname@example.org
There is no application form. When applying, please provide answers to the following:
- Details of your organisation - you need to be a foodbank/organisation who can provide food assistance to local residents in Redbridge
- The amount that you are applying for
- A summary of how the money will be spent and how many people you intend to support - applications should be able to demonstrate value for money
- Confirmation that the organisation has a bank account with two signatories
For those who were awarded funding through the COVID Winter Grant Scheme in April which has not yet been spent, please be advised that we will not be awarding extra funding unless you can clearly show that the total sum can be spent by 30 September 2021.
Depending on the number of applications, the amount applied for may not be the final amount issued. There will not be an appeals process.
You will need to keep a record of how the money has been spent and how many individuals/families you have supported.
If you have any questions about the application process, please email email@example.com
