Valentines Mansion May Fair
Published: 13 May 2017
I was invited to attend the May Fair by the Friends of Valentines Mansion who do such wonderful work in making sure that the mansion and the grounds are kept in such good condition. I was taken on a tour of the gardens by the Head Gardener Simon and they were looking particularly beautiful as the roses were out in full bloom in the sunshine.
There was also a large array of local crafts on display and it was nice to chat to all the exhibitors and visit the workshops to see how the articles are made. I was also very fortunate to meet the May Queen and all her little helpers who were so enthusiastic about helping her make things which involved lots and lots of glue!
If you have not already visited the mansion I would urge you to do so where not only can you see a beautiful house and enjoy a pleasant walk in the gardens but you can also learn about the living history of Redbridge itself. It is one of the jewels in Redbridge’s crown and needs to be supported as much as possible in order to preserve it and enhance it for the enjoyment of our future generations.
