When carrying out planned maintenance of roads and pavements traffic management is used to ensure safety of all road users during the works and that traffic flows without unnecessary delays. Sometimes it is necessary to divert traffic for a temporary period, or impose other restrictions to ensure all works progress quickly but safely.
